Kostron Dureflex® and Platilon® TPU films have been applied in automotive parts: they add flexibility and permeability to the fabric laminating structure of automotive rolls. Panoramic sunroofs are becoming more and more popular with the general public because they can bring a sense of spaciousness to car interiors. However, controlling the amount of sunlight that gets into the car is an important consideration, as too much sunlight can cause the car to overheat.
Therefore, when needed, you can close the shutter to reduce the light into the car, and when you open the shutter, light will shine into the car. In the past, skylights have used rigid sliding blinds that limit mobility and possible design specifications for skylights or top Windows. With the change of vehicle structural components, large panoramic skylight design became possible. However, shading curtains may also need a new design to improve their function and how open they can be. The challenge for many automakers is to find the right materials that meet design and performance requirements.
For panoramic skylights, the ideal material must act as a hot-melt adhesive and be able to bond to the fabric used (usually polyester). The film must also be able to maintain its properties over a wide temperature range and must be of high quality. The film must also be thin enough to save space when rolled up, but opaque enough to control light. Finally, the film and fabric must conform to the FR requirements specified in THE MVSS302 specification.
Kostron Dureflex® and Platilon® Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) films provide high-performance material solutions for modern skylight requirements. TPU film is a tough and durable material commonly used for fabric lamination, making it an excellent choice for shutter applications. Kostron Thin Film offers a number of attractive features for sunroof and top window applications. Platilon® or Dureflex® TPU film can be used as fabric laminate for sunroof protection.
The two films effectively block out sunlight and can be easily integrated into small Spaces. The high flexibility of the rolled shading TPU film makes large area shading possible. These fabrics are laminate thin and flexible. These films can be soft, light and take up less space than past sliding screens.
Kxtron offers flame retardant and flame retardant TPU films for different structural designs and specifications. These films can be thermally laminated between two layers of fabric or thermally laminated to one side of the fabric and have a matte appearance, thus simplifying the roll structure and reducing the use of one layer of fabric.
